Physical bullying is actually easier to deal with because if, for example, someone pushes you or tries to hit you, you can just hit them back. If they're bigger than you they will beat you nonetheless, but you actually have space and opportunity to retaliate.

Verbal abuse, what I mostly experienced, is much more sinister and difficult to deal with. When you're at the bottom of the social hierarchy (in a school environment for example) people call you names and stuff, doesn't matter what you say back to them they'll just laugh at you and ridicule you. You're seen as scum, and nothing you say will change that, especially if you're non-NT and have bad social skills.
