i tried marvel rivals today so i could compare it to overwatch
it has similar problems imo but its more soy cuz its all capeshit
i just felt dirty and greasy being in the lobby with all those redditors

the problem which was apparent to me off the bat was how healercucks dont have handicapped damage just like in OW.
dps: you can shoot at potential 200 damage per second if you hit all your shots? Good for you i guess
healer: I can deal 150 dps with carefree projectile abilities but I can also hold you still for 5 seconds and heal to full in 1 button press and have better movement than you
it is not a fair tradeoff. I'm tired of the pandering they have for healcucks and afraid to let dps excel in the 1 thing they are supposed to be doing
OW2 is the greatest offender of this
take Ana and Kiriko
they have higher longrange dps output than 15 out of the 18 DPS characters (widow,ashe,hanzo, maybe freja idk). THEY ARE FUCKING HEALERS. Nuff said. But it doesnt stop there. They have better self sustain and 1v1 capability at any range. Kiriko has better movement. Both have decent utility.
Dps is just a clown role. Unless somebody is smurfing or putting on an outlier performance, they are almost always irrelevant.
Matches are decided by smurf presence, then tank dif, then by support dif, only then by dps dif, if its indeed strong in contrast.
Dps used to be way more influential before the HP inflation, because they could burst down a healer or enemy dps.
Now, when an extra headshot is required to get a kill, its more brawly and dps just edge back and forth without that consequence.
Dps are doing some chip damage with occasional kill and thats it. Thats like 1 out of 10 avenues you need to win. Something that tank and healer can do anyway. Tanks and supports are in charge of everything else, such as creating space, mitigating damage, healing, heal prevention, cleansing, counter-ulting, buffing etc.
This was all admitted in black and white when ow2 first releaed and the forums were filled with support players making threads like
"i can no longer easily 1v1 backline enemy dps now that a 2nd tank is gone". The audacity. They are entitled to doing everything a support does and still out-doing damage dealers at the same time. They werent correct. Those were the low skill players complaining. I played zen and I topfragged all 10 players of the lobby every single game.
What was the longest and most prominent meta in OW history? Yep, the meta which contains 0 dps characters on either team.
I'll give another anecdotal example, imo a good one.
Have you heard of Dafran? Ex-pro, current streamer. He and a friend of his, cragie or something, were playing a 1v1 mode in community games.
Which heroes do you think he won most 1v1s in a row with?
Having perfect aim. 10k hours of experience. Complete mastery of almost all heroes. Pro scene experience.
Being a global top 100 player on any hero he chooses.
Knowing exactly what to do against every match-up hes presented.

it was Ana, Zen, Moira, Kiriko, and Bap
they both went on ~16 killstreaks with supports in 1v1s against dps
they arent even support mains. they are both dps mains
when he got heroes like mccree, and soldier (what Dafran is known for to begin with) they went on like 3-4 killstreaks only
all this seen plainly with my 2 eyes makes it perfectly clear to me
countless extenuating factors make it impossible for DPS role to surpass healer role. A good dps player is wasted playing dps. He could be carrying games playing kiriko instead.
