Why features of a watch are limited when the module has more capabilities than delivered, such as the 4230 module in the W800H having the capability of a countdown timer and 5 alarms that has to be unlocked by minor modification. Why isn't it standard, when it's a part of the module itself? I don't know.
Exactly how much more expensive is it to at least try plating an alloy, rather than sticking to resin. The A1000 is like a hundred bucks, for a watch whose features mirror the f91w. I think it's a production issue, they have all these varieties of Casio yet the f84w, f91w, a158, etc are basically the same watch.
I mean it's cool that there's all sorts of variety, but... is it really necessary in terms of cost-efficiency? People in some countries have to resort to SKMEI because Casios there are so expensive.
If I called the shots at Casio, I would create an end all be all watch. Something as durable as a G-SHOCK, comes in a multitude of colors and fashions, fully customizable LCD features(i.e. toggle year display, custom day/date/year placements, phone connectivity/bluetooth, custom messages/effects, etc.) Think the OllieWatch.
It would have two material variations, resin cast(for the colorful ones) or plated copper/alloy(for the shiny ones). The plated would use an expansion band similar to timex. The resin would use a resin band.
Probably hybrid solar.
Overall it would be a vintage style.
The closest we have to this idea is the ABL100
