They say it's tied to autism and schizophrenia. I'm certainly neurodivergent, but not so sure about schizophrenia. I do have these terrible intrusive thoughts that my OCD pesters me with, which sort of emulates some schizophrenic symptoms.

Also, my mother is definitely a schizo, so I may have inherited her mental illness.

See if psychiatrist if you're concerned. Just be careful about what you share. Don't give them a reason to throw you in a psychward because they deem you unstable. Psychward patients have less rights than prisoners.
