Yeah it's retarded as fuck. Anyhow you rarely hear about people getting arrested for it anymore especially in Cuckfornia. I would NOT pick up a streetwalker though. Too risky. I was reading a blog and a guy said he was talking to girl on Figueroa (street in Los Angeles, CA) and sure enough a motorcycle cop pulled up behind him and stopped him. They only gave him a warning and the cop told him to not come back to Figueroa.
