I heard pakistan didn't even have a word for rape until the 80s

The pakistani urdu language didn't have rape as a word until the 80s.

So men could rape women and the law would do nothing to them.

When they went to the police and said they been raped they were told there is no word for rape in urdu.

It still doesn't, or they don't use it idk, they use the word "Zyadati" which generically means doing something wrong to someone sexually or indulgence.
