In nature there is no consent. Would a man plead and work his way up, getting to know her, etc just with the sole purpose of reproducing with her? Of course not. Would he ask for any consent? consent is badly codified in the law and that's another can of worms but the truth is there exist no "rights", whether positive nor natural. They're just social construct, and particularly flimsy at that, since I can deny your right to life by simply killing you and nobody can bring it back for you, plus I go to jail for some times and be out afterwards for reasons, and this applies to all rights.

What literature would you recommend about the topic?

Definitely the main books are "Leviathan" by Thomas Hobbes and "Second Treatise on Civil Government" by John Locke. The main texts that shaped western political sciences.

I don't know to be honest, can't verify it and common sense and/or logic are as fallible as anything else when it comes to unverifiable stuff. One would also need to describe a state of no civilization, since it might be arguable that even small bands of hunters-gatherers are considerable a society in some way. So do we have just isolated people or something? Perhaps due to the tendency of humans to gather together, the concept of "society" is inseparable from that of "human". And nowadays no one can really live without relying on society in varying degrees.

Once again I can't really know that unfortunately. Rape fantasies are more of a circumstantial proof. Maybe qualities of "strength" and "weakness" weren't the ones that women primarily relied on to choose partners, maybe they were. Lots of societies have arranged marriages, like in China for example, and some societies have marriage by abduction. Women seem to like such marriages just fine, just historically. In the early settlement of Australia, the authorities would force shotgun marriage and would assign a woman to a man without bothering with the formality of marriage or any pretense at female consent, and it does not seem to have led to any difficulties. Whereas porn stars give carefully recorded consent to everything, and usually wind up badly disturbed by all the disgusting things they consented to, consent doesn't really even make much sense, all its modern prongs seem to just be mate supression.
