Theory I guess silly/meme things are easier to get into if you're getting something from them

For example recently I know we've had these:

- brainrots
- 67
- Minecraft movie
- Prime drinks

I'm sure there have been way more but... for example if a teenager's friends are trying to get them to go see Minecraft then it makes sense to just have fun with it than to be all miserable!

Same with the brainrot thing like Steal A Brainrot on Roblox. Probably a lot more fun for a kid or teen to join in than not.

Lots of crazes and stuff have been pretty silly (Pogs or fidget spinners or Pokémon cards or whatever) but I do think that they can be fun socially in particular and even if you feel you're being drawn into something that isn't super smart, the pros can outweigh the cons.

I don't like all of them but I like some.

That being said... even the ones I don't like very much I'd probably be more tempted to try to get into them if the circumstances suited it.

Like I wouldn't want to be the only one in a cinema seeing Minecraft who was sitting in the corner all miserable. Just using that as a random example.
