I despise movie games and the normies who watch them

They like to argue that movie games are important for video games to be taken seriously as an artistic medium. My answer to this is, if video games have to be filled with obsessive cutscenes for you to view them as art, then you inherently never viewed video games as art in the first place.

Movie games truly do pander to the lowest common denominator. The sort of normie who consumes whatever movie or show is popular so that they can brag about their tastes and know how in mass produced slop. The kind of normie who thinks that characters constantly crying about their emotions is deep.


I cannot stand movie games, but even worse is the sort of golem that consumes them.

Most normies still think gaming is for losers (except for their retarded sportsball garbage and COD), and so seek out movie games so they don't feel like one of those "dirty gamers". I do understand and won't deny that a good story and good graphics can tranform a game from good to amazing but if that's the only thing the game has to offer than it would be pretty lackluster of an experience.

Fumito Ueda is considered one of the first developers to have his video games seen as a art form. He uses minimalist storytelling and barely any cutscenes to convey his stories. Normies just don’t like video games and sitting down and staring at the screen is easier for them then to actually play the game.

I think the biggest issue (for me) with movie games is that they are very poorly directed and lack of good music. Asura's Wrath was excellent in those regards, i enjoyed it.

Just reminded me of those games like Super Seducer. Those games are actually way more peak as opposed to literal 'movie games' which are just cutscene upon cutscene to the point where an actual film at a cinema would be more interactive and changeable.
