Serious How should I balance MGs? (Machine guns)

Making my own FPS vidya rn.

I have played 2 games in the past with different approaches:

Ofc, MGs have higher ammo capacity, lower recoil, and increased range compared to their main competitors, ARs.

1. Very slow movement speed, equal in all other ways

2. Slightly faster movement speed at the cost of DPS

Currently, in my vidya, ARs have around 85% of the base movement speed. I'm thinking 65% for MGs.

Any ideas?

The spread should be higher than rifles in the first few shots (jolt), then gradually decrease as you continue firing.
