How much can AI theoretically do?

AI is evolving at a rapid pace, but in our lifetime, how far do you think AI will actually go? (to 2050)

Here are the massively good aspects of AI:
- instantaneous cures
- digital automation
- uncovering more than 20% of possible chemical synthesis (brand new molecules)
- providing companionship

You can provide more good or bad aspects. Either way, it is a tool. And I believe IT is sentient.
