In grade 9-10 I had a habit of making steam come out of my mouth. I would cluck my tongue on the roof of my mouth, then blow out my cheeks, then blow steam out and do tricks.

It eventually became second nature and I would do it at all times of the day without even thinking. I did it so often that my cheek lining started peeling off due to all the pressurising. Before this I used to have relatively tight skin around my cheeks, but after a year or two of doing this 100+ times per day the skin started having some slack to account for all the blowing/pressurising. I would rub my tongue on the walls of my mouth and I could peel off an incredible amount of flesh.

This is what happened to me:

My cheeks have improved slightly since I have stopped, but the constant expansion of my skin has left me with folds on my face from my eyes down to the bottom of my cheek, as well as enlarged skin around my cheeks. For the rest of my life it's always probably going to be evident.

My parents also both have genetically tight skin around their, cheeks, so I should too - but now I don't.

I was so subhuman in high school genuinely depressing time

I feel u bro, I have tourettes and one of my tics ill get is blinky rapidly and with force. By the afternoon my eyes will be red and i'll look like some stoner crackhead or I have pink eye.

I have crazy lines on my face but it's due to my narrow palate.

Brutal man. My younger brother has a blinky/winking tick, as a result of excessive screen usage.

Did you ever try and get help with the tourettes and blinking?

Yes, just one of those habits that become second nature and you do without thinking.

But I have overcome it now, apart from today I haven't done it in years.

Not super bad, to anyone new who sees me they can barely tell. But if anyone knew me before they would be able to.

I'm just thankful it has gone down now, it used to look bad.

Steammaxxing theory debunked.:feelskek:

Seriously though, don't worry about it - natural muscle atrophy will do its thing.

But rather than the muscle, it's the skin on my cheeks that enlarged as a result of the constant expansion.
It's like fat people for example, after loosing the weight they have excess skin.

so what you were acting like a squirrel or some shit

Was like a tick or something? I went through something similar, pulled my hair due to stress

I was a habitat that turned into a tick. I just kept blowing out my cheeks constantly, and clucking my tongue with my mouth closed.
We really got a bad hand in life
If people around us actually cared enough for us, we wouldn't have started doing those shitty tics

Sadly.

Do you still have any of the tics?
I do:

Do you still have any of the tics?
Nah
All of them were caused by stress (bullying, shitty parents, poverty, no toilet/bathroom) and I'm not that under stress that much nowadays

Oh ok, maybe you can do a small surgery to remove excess skin? Idk how much it would cost though.

It sucks bro, sorry to hear about that.

It's not even worth surgery for it.

And it isn't evident for the average person looking at me.

I mean it depends on the severity of it. If its not a big deal and takes time to notice, than yeah surgery isn't needed.

Yes, it used to be so much worse.

But the main tick I have now is picking at my face and swallowing constantly in public.

By picking at your face do you mean just touching it, or picking pimples?

Pulling at my eyebrows, pulling out my eyelashes, picking at my skin.

I made a small thread a little while ago:

Damn.
I used to pick my face, and I stopped doing it.
What helped is punishing yourself for doing it, yes it sounds childish but it works, for example a small pinch whenever you find yourself doing it.

I used to do similar, but gave up as I would do it for hours without even realising.
