I tried so hard with every ounce of my being to have a routine but I cant

I would designate times for showering, eating, working out and such but I mostly cannot stick to my schedule at all

What ends up happening is that for example if Im showering I just kind of take like a 30 minute nap in the shower, then afterwards Im still sleepy so I just kind of take another 30 minutes to just lay in my bed before I actually make breakfast and eat which takes like an hour because Im on my phone during that time and then everything is fucked, everything takes forever, Im slow like a sloth, every day gets derailed and I have to scramble to get things done

And then my sleep schedule is fucked I just sleep whenever I feel like it which and I do it in small bursts because Im constantly tired and exhausted

What do I do

I was able to do it by stacking habits piece by piece and eventually had a whole routine I now stick to.

It took a while to train my mind to do routines. I developed it when I was in University.

First off, what you have sounds like depression. I was able to have a less clouded mind after taking some zombie pills, but that is optional and I stopped taking them after a month.

I started with having a Day journal that I consistently wrote in. Every day I would have a "Goals of the Day" page, and I would write my goals in the morning and checkmark them as I went on throughout my day. I would place stuff like, "Class 9 am" or "study for this class 1 hour" or "Gym". It took some effort initially, but I used that Day journal throughout my University time.

In addition to that, I also had two white boards in my room. One white-board was dedicated to "Goals of the Month", so more medium-term goals. It would give me a direction for my daily goals journal. I would also have a white-board calendar where I put in any important events or dates that would be happening that month, like due dates, exams, etc.

I don't do this anymore, but it really helped me a lot in developing routines and having a sense of timeliness throughout the day.

Also, military service drilled this into me more, as being late, or not getting enough sleep or missing deadlines in the military meant punishment.

I have a routine, just a terribly bad one
I wake up at like 10 AM, too lazy to make breakfast so I wait until I start starving at like 1/2 PM etc.
