Indeed. The men of the past. Our ancestors. Would never let their kingdoms, cities, empires or villages fall on the hands of females or weak men. The strong ruled, the weak obeyed. They wished for their names to be remembered, they wished for honor, They acted (good or bad) so that their names would still exist after their bodies have died. Today our weak leaders only care about money and self indulgence.
As such they let their societies be destroyed and their people die in front of their own eyes. As long as they get money (and with it, drugs, sex, alcohol, and a petty feeling of being perceived as better than others) they won't care about the fall of their civilization. Those things (sex, food, alcohol) should be just a part of life, not its objective. Or else soon we will be indiscernible from other animals.
We are animals, fighting our natural instincts is very hard. But not impossible. We can get a hold of our hunger, we can get a hold of our thirst, we can get a hold of our sexual urges, we can get a hold of our aggressiveness and will to hunt and kill (after all we are predators, not only that we are
apex predators), we can get a hold of our will to pee or shit. Those wills can't be held for a long time of course. But strong will, determination and discipline can make us at least be able to put them at check and control them, we can control ourselves.
