Kind of. I don't watch harem, but I do watch romcom animes. Back when bluepilled, I thought the true love presented in anime was something achievable and a glimpse into my expected future. Although I still fantasize about this love when watching I don't think its real or expect to experience it.
I don't watch anime with romance or hole companionship.

1) you're not 'making yourself' if it's a hobby not a burden
2) it's not simping for the male char if he's an extreme gentleman beyond the mediocre
One thing you need to realize about these stories is they're not all about wish fulfillment. Have you watched all of School Days, for example?
Something like Clannad, despite the main char being somewhat of a chad you end up getting jealous about, is it does give you an interesting perspective on the larger challenges and priorities of life.

Yes. In the old days I had no problem slipping into that kind of fantasy, but now it hurts a little and now I kind of have to take breaks between episodes.
