You can also observe the same in women, but they can have full out balding and it won't hurt their SMV.

Most men seem completely unaware that it matters or that they're even balding. If they only knew how important it was for:
- finding jobs
- being respected

I remember hearing someone in academia talking about this. My father is NW1 at 66, lived and lives an unhealthy life; my younger brother is NW0, yet smokes, drinks, eats nothing but junkfood: I'm balding despite healthy living. My fathers side of the family all have great hair, the men on my mothers side are all balding or bald. I had less hair at 25 than my father at 65, coupled with a high forehead its over.
