When I lived in a huge city in the West, going to the restaurant alone from time to time was plausible. By plausible, I mean you can fake having a good reason to go there. For instance, during working days, you can pretend you're eating your lunch among regular employees or students minding their own business around. You can fit in as some of them just eat alone, relatively quickly, to get back to work as soon as possible. People won't look at you, everyone has stuffs to do, and that's for the better even if it can get depressing on the long run.
But now I live in a totally different environment. I'm in a third world country were basically I don't look "local". If I go to the restaurant alone, people look at me and start asking questions. Some of them are even trying to take advantage of me, increasing prices, or literaly try to steal my stuffs. As most of people here do not work and just sit here all day talking about what's new in town, I can't fit in at all.
Are there buddy boyos in the same situation ? Would you LDAR at home or try to go to the restaurant anyway ?
