This was the legal REALITY in Germany in the 50s, 60s and partially until 1997:
1. It was illegal to have sex while unmarried. You could be thrown in jail for it.
2. It was illegal to rent a flat to a man and a woman who were not married. You could go to jail.
3. Each Chad was married to one woman - publically recognizable due to a ring on his finger - and it meant he was off the market for all other women.
4. Women were not allowed to work without their husband's permission. It was illegal for businesses to employ a woman without her husband's explicit permission. This made them financially dependent on their husbands.
5. Men had the right to beat their women in order to teach them how to behave. The law explicitly allowed this.
7. If your wife refused you sex then you had the right to force her - this was not considered rape until 1997.
Half the male population was dead due to the war so 2 women had to compete for one man.
And this was only 20-70 years ago. Why is a return to this so unimaginable?
