Idk about engineering. But it's probably easier in the sense you won't have error bullshit. and only need do calculations and paperwork.

Probably another pro is once your done with the hard math in college, you'll likely never use it in real work for most jobs.

I do stock trading as a side thing and have stopped doing it as much as I used as of recent due to being stressed. I do plan on going back to doing it more when I have more free time

It's too brutal. There are some stem jobs which aren't as brain raping. I will have to look into those and swap over. but they pay less on average

I find what really helps for me tremendously is before you even begin typing, I take out a notebook and write an outline of how I'm gonna do this in what order. And I print out a paper of the rules of the game. If you spend hours doing the outline, the coding part becomes much easier.

I prefer web development. Doesn't take much problem solving if any. You just input content/info for the most part and fancy it up later.

Yes I normally plan everything. It saves frustration and pain later. Saves time in testing too. I also tend to overdocument and comment then later clean up. Work for me is probably 70% planning and 30% coding.

Yes planning is key. Tbh in almost any type of job, even a shitty plan is better than no plan. Always better to over plan than under plan too. Make UML/ERD/flowchart diagrams, plan everything to overkill degree.
