COPE. Human's skill is pretty much the same as training a machine. We observe patterns and find codependent things, learn how to combine them in a convincing way, add something from ourselves on the top and call it creativity. Machines analyze human's work, so do we.

No, of course. I thought back in 2014 that algorithms would soon take over, 6 years forward they still can't do shit. But to be honest I'm afraid of the future of most coding jobs that are in demand today. Don't know about composers and shit that much, but heck some legit high IQ jazz music is sometimes indiscernible from what an AI would wrote, much less to say about modern pop music, which is highly structured and relatively simple.
 
That's why I make games.
 
If you're worried about this, move on from front-end development into something that AI can't do (yet).

Musicians are already devalued into oblivion. You can get a track composed on Fiverr for like $20. Every couple of weeks I get an offer from a random musician to make music for one of my games.
 
most frontend development isn't really coding anyway. It's more about using frameworks and gluing stuff together so it makes sense that it can be automated. In those examples the "AI" just parses the words and sees "button" "red" and uses a pre-made button component and gives it the color red etc.
 
frontend always was cucked, it's a position made mostly for people who are too stupid to learn normal programming like diversity hires and "women who code" who finished some shitty bootcamp and got a job just because they are not white males

backend developers are always able to do the frontend job if you ask them but it never works the other way

It is impossible to compete with AI and robots.
They don´t need to sleep, they don´t need to eat, don´t need holiday, salary and they can work 24/7.

Soon giving up will be the only option for many men.
 
I don’t really know how expansive this is because it’s a demo where he’s showing off desired functionality. It is impressive though I’m not sure how useful this will be if someone wants a design different than the one hard coded here. Anyways, if anything this just makes a UI artist’s job easier. There are frameworks like Bootstrap which make user interfaces easier to code and that was increased front end development if anything. Also, while some can be involved in front-end development, it’s not usually intensive and even graphic artists are usually employed to do the work.

I think this guy would be better off working on natural language processing or reg expression stuff. That’s where the money is

Is that for an exclusive piece of music just for you or something? That's fucking insane. I know a guy who can produce like 1-2 pieces a day if he's in the mood, makes pretty good money, but even he would have a hard time keeping up to afford himself a bowl of noodles with those rates.

Yes, those were custom tracks. They weren't very good so I used only 1 out of 3 and bought two others from some music site for $15 apiece. There's always someone looking to make a name for himself and willing to work for peanuts or for free.
I never get offers to do art for free though, but music is very devalued at least on the lower tier.
 
Guys you didn´t get the point. Of course programmers are not going to disappear. It´s just getting harder to compete with other programmers. Not everyone can learn it and if you can than you are not going to be sufficient enough to compete with other programmers.

First layout and coding were two separate things, then it became css js html, now there's a trend for full stack specialists. What's next? Average human brain just can't handle more things that modern web developement already requires from you, I think. Next those people will just get automated and replaced with low qualified out-source workers that will only be there to tune the code that a machine generated for a particular case.

"full stack" is a result of greedy corporations asking people to do 3 jobs at once for the price of one. If the market was fair, people would be hired by speciality and departmentalized. Most gay web devs don't even code. They copypasta stack overflow, regurgitate api calls from preexisting frameworks, or outright plagiarize. Recruiters don't hire intelligent white men losers who design systems because they don't understand what goes into the work and most are anti-social and don't mesh with the diversity and sjw hires that seem to be filling up tech.

I hope automation comes sooner than later. Tech and STEM are beyond repair when user guidelines and respecting trannies is more important than actual creation. These priveleged idiots don't deserve salaries. They read buzzfeed every morning, watch gay shit like coding train, and simp for twitch thots because of disposable income. Tech soys are a scourge.
 
This is why is always better to study mathematics. It's timeless. Machines will eventually do any human task that can be broken down into a comfortable algorithm. The absolute last thing an AI would ever be able to do is establish new axioms, define new mathematical objects and structures, and then generate new theorems from that. In other words, doing mathematics.

OP, if you're so concerned, become the guy who develops the algorithms and shows the math behind it, rather than a drone simply uses it.

Beautifully said. In a more competitive society if you're just the retard who drags and drops stuff you're gonna get easily replaced by some curry who charges 2 dollars an hour to do your job. But if you're really qualified you're gonna make tons of money. It's insane how many people who study CS have such a bad knowledge about algorithms and Math. Those people will never make it.
