I had a laugh at the finding that it was after "leaving inceldom" that those guys started embracing traditional masculinity (I guess that's what they mean there as "hegemonic masculinity", that article is completely filled with feminist social studies neologisms) and trying to be stereotypically masculine men. Turns out being a soy male feminist ally who calls out oppression whenever he sees it isn't the foolproof way to start getting laid every day that R*dditors are making it out to be

The ages of the participants also speak for themselves. We don't know their dates of birth, so we can only go by years and they given ages they were during the study was being done (2024). With that, the last participant was by far the oldest when inceldom left him "because it changed so much". After that, the eldest guy was 25, with the rest being either in their early-20s or actual teenagers when they "left inceldom".
So basically, apart from one guy, all of those were young guys who started working out and starting to act like traditional men, and that was them "leaving inceldom".
