The Catholic Church is very anti-euthanasia. They don't believe one should be allowed to end their life. They believe in forced medical treatments to keep people alive. On one hand this is very bad and horrible and I think people should not have to live. However, it does show that the Church values all life equally. The reason they oppose euthanasia is because they say it is not compatible with human dignity because life value.

Although I would not want to be kept alive, I do admire that they believe my life is valuable and worth preserving, I do like how they care about me and see me as a Soul with infinite value. I read about a case of Elizabeth Bouvia, she was a neck down cripple with Cerebral Palsey and tried to die via starvation, the Catholic Church endorsed her forcedfeeding. They argued that no matter how disabled or economically useless one is or ugly one is, they deserve to life and experience full human dignity.

I don't know, suicide is a tough one. God gave strength to Samson to suicide when he was in hopeless situation and pull with himself his enemies.

Yeah but that's for a very different purpose. Charging a battlefield knowing you're going to die is very different in Catholic Theology than suiciding because you hate life and want to die.

That Russian dude who called an airstrike on himself would not have been considered to have considered suicide.

You're right. Though imo suffering is pointless, it doesn't gives glory to God, like some romanticize suffering.

According t the Catholic Church it isn't pointless, it's part of God's plan

I hate how normies are okay with euthanasia when someone has a chronic physical illness, but they're against assisted suicide for people with severe mental illness like depression. Anyone who's experienced major depression (like I have) knows that a depressed life doesn’t feel worth living. Personally, I was so far gone I couldn’t even get out of bed to pee, and I felt unexplained pain all over my body. The only thing that got me through was heavy medication that turned me into a zombie who could barely string a sentence together.

The only reason I can somewhat sympathize with their position is that somebody with only a mental illness has the means to commit suicide, assuming they're not imprisoned. Someone with a crippling physical condition cannot and thus NEED the euthanasia.

It's not that simple, brocel. The most effective means of suicide are often the most painful and brutal (throwing oneself onto train tracks, hanging, shooting oneself in the head, or jumping from a building). Normies prefer people to jump from the thirteenth floor rather than have a peaceful and effective professional-assisted death

Who gives a shit about the catholic church ?

I won't mind religion and what they think.
I do mind if it's the medical core of society who doesn't value life.

The medical core shouldn't value life. I'm extremely offended that the do value life. They should value PROFIT. If saving life in a given instance earns profit, then save it, if not then don't.

The market will ensure that the most productive get healthcare.

What power do they have ? Only a few african cathonigs care about that
Largest religion on the planet, Opus Dei has infiltrated top institutions, have sway over 1.3 billion people.

The Catholic Church is why abortion is an issue in the U.S, and why Roe vs Wade got overturned. They're also one of the primary reasons euthanasia remains criminalized in most places, and why Human Cloning is criminalized everywhere.
