does autism exist?

I'm currently writing to an autistic person from the US. The guy has a picture, and he's like me, maybe a 1/10, if that.
He knows a lot about autism and is one himself.
Do you think autism doesn't exist at all, but that the cause is actually appearance?
He doesn't do sports or anything else, but he works.
He wears thick glasses and is very nearsighted.
I think autism is due to appearance and the experiences one has had because of one's own appearance.
my theory is that high function autism didn't exist and that just the appearance can cause such disorders.

because people who are good looking and autistic are seen as quirky instead of autistic and you don’t pay much attention to their behaviour. If you’re ugly and autistic then your weird behaviour is gonna be attributed to autism. But autism is definitely real, brain scans have showed differences in the way our brains are structured compared to normal people.
