I find it ridiculous how those who have a significantly higher iq with superior cognitive ability are put under the same category as retarded genetic dead ends. The idea that autism is a vastly broad spectrum was created to belittle highly intelligent people and make them seem inferior for questioning the flawed nature of society and being hyper aware of the world around them. Additionally I would argue the same thing with psychopathy, as they are deemed mentally disabled for failing to conform to subjective moral values with no basis outside of the increasingly prevalent hyper sensitivity that has only just started to appear in the last few centuries.

Aspies should absolutely not be put into the autism category, asperger's is absolutely superior and a step further in human evolution

To be fair, "autism" in its modern parlance is often a catch-all term for people who are eccentric or have odd habits or interests, and many "autists" have never been formerly-diagnosed but are self-diagnosed or self-categorized.

Plus, the criteria of what qualifies as being "autistic" has been greatly-expanded by mental-health professionals, so it is often a very vague disorder.
