Serious question. I've been making plans for it in the past few months. As much as I'd like to believe there is an afterlife, I can't truly believe that with my heart and soul. This question is mainly aimed at religiouscels or those who believe in an afterlife/reincarnation; if you've considered suicide, how has that impacted your resolve on actually going through with it?
I figure that if I have no recollection of some higher plane of consciousness before I was born, why should I think that anything is in store for me after I die? The idea that everything ends with death is equally a comforting and terrifying thought. I'd like to hear feedback from users that have seriously considered suicide and/or have made plans for it. How has the idea of a potential afterlife impacted your thought process in this world?
