Tbh I believe in geography more. Africa is a shithole full of desert, dogshit soil, diseases like tsetse fly and constant flooding/drought. Before modern amenities like industrial level imports, modern medicine and chemical fertilisers you would have large regions the size of Spain with a population of only a couple million.

Large populations and manpower is what drives civilisation, supports non-subsistence labor (innovators patronised by the rich elite, artisans, labor gangs for mass infrastructure). Precious just makes you an easy target for those advanced civilisations

Africa is full of resources lol even basic ones like food etc… it’s just that blacks have low iq (no offense) and can’t or don’t want to use them to develop so I believe way more on genetic determinism but of course geography shapes it
