The people I considered friends weren't really friends. Not in the way normies have friends that stick with them, and remain buddies for a prolonged amount of time.

I was often the starter friend with new kids. Once they established themselves in the hierarchy, they abandoned me. I had narcissistic/sociopathic friends out of desperation. They weren't really my friends, but the only ones who'd give me attention, so I clung to them. I did have a few friendly acquaintances, but they kept their distance and never saw me as on the same level as their true friends.
