Democracy is not a good system. It takes advantage of the dumbest common majority of people, the reason democracy is so flawed is because people don’t actually vote for what’s the best, people just vote for what SOUNDS good which incentivizes politicians to LIE.

Everyone’s vote should NOT be equal. For you to look me in the face and say that you could have a 40 year old professor who’s a political analyst and studies history and politics for a living and have someone next to him who just got out of high school and can’t even name the 3 branches of government, for you to look at me and tell both of these peoples votes are EQUAL and have EQUAL VALUE? I think there’s something deeply wrong with that.

People often say that democracy protects the weak because everyone gets an equal say but this is assuming that the majority will vote in favor of the weak. The majority is always going to be selfish and vote in favor of things that solely benefit them. This creates an oligarchy systems where whoever has the most money can buy the most influence and garner the most amount of votes and your left with most the country of people not getting what they want.

Ideally democracy can only be as good as the people within the state. If you have democracy in a country full of retards, those retards will vote in favor of retardation. This is an example of democracy failing a nation. Ask any antifa bleeding heart liberal who supports democracy if they would still support a democratic country if the people of the state all voted in favor of evil or incompetent policies that go against their beliefs.

Democracy is a lie that’s been sold to the people that’s used to control the stupid and weak the most easily by throwing them a bone and pretending that they actually matter and that they influence anything at all.

If voting really changed anything, they wouldn't let people do it

If the opposite was ever put into practice, civilization would collapse and our leaders would be neo-marxist and women.

So is it fake or real?

Based. It's no wonder democracies around the world are failing.

Democracies are also devolving into police-states, with people being arrested for posting online and saying certain forbidden words and phrases.

Meanwhile Arabs destroying their own countries for the sake of establishing democracy

Countries called 'democracies' aren't really true democracies anyway. In fact I don't think true representative democracy has ever been tried at a large scale

if you have money you have democracy, if you have looks you have democracy, if you have power you have democracy

Yeah the US for example isn’t a true democracy at all due to the electoral college which makes it less about which party actually has more votes in the country and more about winning your specific states electoral college votes.

Yup and because of the two party system, blatant lobbying etc..

Democracy = 2 wolves and a sheep deciding on dinner

Limited democracy is the way forward, just how the founding fathers originally envisioned, the word democracy is not in the constitution or declaration of independence in fact the founding fathers made multiple statements against it.

And its really insane how people think the votes arent rigged

Shariah law is the best form of government

This is inarguably the biggest flaw of universal suffrage, but it raises some questions:

- If you take away the voting rights of the uneducated and stupid people how are they going to be represented politically? Do these people even need political representation?

- If you try limit who can and can’t vote you’ll need to examine their knowledge in politics, geopolitics, history etc. through some kind of test to see if they’re able to make grounded and rational decisions in an election. Who decides what constitutes as basic general knowledge to allow someone to vote? Who would create these tests? How would they look like? And many such questions…

Otherwise I agree with everything you mentioned in your post. Democracy as it currently exists is flawed, but what’s the alternative?

Chinese legalism>democracy

You’re a hypocrite—don’t complain about living in the First World

A big thing that people also seem to forget about the founders of our country is that they viewed the government as something that exists to serve the people and that at any moment that stops happening and gov starts serving itself and stops serving the people that means the people have every god given right (If not duty) to overthrow and establish a new government.

I don’t know about you but I think we hit that threshold almost a million years ago by this point. Of course, nobodies doing anything.

“you live in a first world country, therefore you aren’t allowed to ever complain or criticize anything about your country”

How does criticizing a system I live in make me hypocritical? Yes I live in the first world and I want it to be better than it is. I want it to be as good as possible so if I notice a flaw I think needs pointing out then I have the right to criticize that.

You third worlders always act like the biggest victims and act like only your problems should matter

What’s the alternative? Well there’s a lot of different systems of governance that exist that aren’t democracy.

To answer your questions, for the first bullet point how will the uneducated going to be represented politically? They don’t need to. that’s a democratic belief that EVERYONE needs to be represented. The people who wouldn’t be allowed to vote already wouldn’t even know what they would be voting for in the first place, they are the votes from stupid impressionable teenagers that get completely wasted. In order for someone to be represented politically in my world they would need to actually know what they want to be represented for and have a consistent and cohesive political position. The only people who wouldn’t be represented would be the people that don’t know how to represent themselves.

For the second bullet point yes, one of my ideas was some sort of basic general knowledge test just for you to prove that you have the bare minimum about of knowledge and information required about the fundamentals of politics to make an informed vote. There are other systems I’ve thought about to such as a benevolent monarch or having different ways to see what the people want, however for a testing type of system then obviously the federal government would be creating and designing these tests (who else would do it?) perhaps with some outside unbiased proof readers involved and they would sort of look something similar to a United States citizenship test. Similar in terms of length and difficulty, ect. Types of questions would be naming the 3 branches of government and what their powers are and things like this. I imagine they would be mostly multiple choice with maybe a few written responses and they would need to be required to be politically unbiased of course so coming up with this test would need to be worked on by both republicans and democrats to make sure the tests are as bipartisan as possible and not ask heavily subjective questions, only factual non opinionated ones.

You don’t have the power to change that system—that’s why I call you a hypocrite.
