The physics are absolutely wretched compared to the original. I never bothered getting past the first world in Crash 1 because I kept slipping with no predictability. They turned such a tight and fun game into something miserable and imprecise. Yet normies gobbled the remake up because it had pretty graphics. Perfect example of how normies don't actually care about gameplay. You could probably take the jankiest N64 game and give it pretty graphics and I guarantee normies would claim it's amazing. 0 standards

played the first crash at an IRL friends place and i beat it 100%, but fuck it was a pain in the ass to play because of the stiff controls.

i never played the n.sane trilogy, but i should some time.

First crash has extremely tight controls on PS1 which is why it's my favorite. You never fuck up by virtue of bad controls once you're used to them. In insane trilogy you constantly slip and you have to put more momentum into jumping which makes certain levels hell.

yeah, you get used to it, but still though, levels like lost city, road to nowhere, slippery climb and fumbling in the dark were a huge pain in the ass.

i heard this one dumb fan theory that says the reason why crash is so stiff in the first game is because he's just gotten mutated.
he's still getting used to his new humanoid body, so his movements are all stiff and awkward.

Eh, the stiffness allows you to do precise platforming that would be a pain with Crash 2 physics

the remake will never be as legendary as the original. You can't improve perfection

it's a very low effort remake. It would've been so easy to just recreate the physics of the OG by giving Crash a cube hit box, but nooo. It's sheer incompetence.

Even if it were an original platformer it would be bad.

also it's kinda cool how we both got joker avatars

their expressions kinda compliment one another

I don’t play remakes by principle.
I’d rather emulate.
