Communism only sounds good on paper

Marxism doesn't really work on paper either considering Marx's work isn't as scientific or rigorous as he makes it out to be.

It's a political philosophy. It's not meant to be that rigorous.

When Marx was writing his works, he was trying to give it more legitimacy by applying quasi scientific methodology to justify his theory.

Yes that much is true for certain aspects of his theory. But usually, when people say "communism works on paper" they are talking about the idea of collective control of MoP replacing private ownership, not the scientific theory of how we will historically reach that place.
 
It never fails in practice. It does exactly what it is supposed to do.
