With the state of decay the Western World finds itself in, I've thought often about where things began to drastically deteriorate. When you look at the early 1960's, before the Vietnam War and ascendance of feminism and the New Left, it was a prime time to be a young man. There was an abundance of jobs in manufacturing, wages rose consistently with productivity, social mores, and therefore, community, was much stronger. You could leave school with a reasonable expectation that you would excel to your talents. Yes, there was some blights, like segregation, but African Americans also experienced prosperity and social advancement, even when suppressed by legislative settings imposed on them. Social clubs, sports clubs, fraternities, labor organising, church attendance, restrictions on divorce and homosexuality, created an atmosphere of social stability.

There was also unity of purpose in the Cold War, the United States achieved incredible feats of science and technology, the Apollo Programme for example. The West as a whole had a clear objective: the defeat of Communism. This could only be achieved if the resources of the whole nation were committed to the struggle. Without any clear moral framework today, and the destruction of unions, the proliferation of predatory banking, the erosion of community and national identity through mass immigration, and the loss of traditional values, Western society is doomed.
