[8] The characterization of Ms Khan’s conduct in taking her children from Bahrain to Canada is in the eye of the beholder. Mr Chaudry describes it as a “criminal abduction” and urges the court to act to prevent such wrongful conduct in future, by both Ms Khan and by others who might be like-minded. Ms Khan argues that she “fled” Bahrain to “escape” an intolerable situation of “abuse” within a society that “tolerates” subjugation of women and children to men.
