They unfortunately didn’t take him to jail. He pushed me on my back on my bed and strangled me with his hands. I didn’t call because I was scared as I was able to get him off of me surprisingly because he’s a muscular, strong guy but he’s 62 and may have also been holding back. I called them because I wanted to get rid of him and this gave me a way to. I’ve hated him since he got out of prison almost 2 years ago and we’ve gotten into two other arguments that almost led to fights. He’s an all around unpleasant person and I avoid him as much as I can, which he takes issue with. I thought for sure they’d take him simply because of his long criminal record but I learned that cops don’t do much in domestic situations unless there’s clear injury. Now my mom wants us all to go to family therapy when that asshole with anger issues and who’s prone to violence is the only problem and she can’t admit it. She thinks that he’s a good father because he’s done the bare minimum to financially support me after all the years of not doing so when he should’ve because he was in and out of prison. Both of my parents are shit in their own ways. My mom more indirectly for being so loyal to a jail bird that’s spent the majority of my life and their relationship locked up. On Friday I’m going to some woman who works for the county sheriff’s department as a Community Job Development Coordinator that my dad set me up with (one of the very few good things he’s done for me) to help me finally get a job. I’m not exactly sure how that’s gonna go but I’m hoping by the end of the year I have enough money so I can get away from these people for good
