im a currycel ,back here even a qualified junior engineer would take around 3 months to save up for one they make around 300$ a month so as a neet saving up is impossible
I use a 6 year old pc with 4gb ram, ssd, quad core 3.6ghz, no gpu, and it's pretty good for everything except ofc playing games.

my 4060 is more than enough for 1080p tbqh, I can't see myself getting a newer card for the forseeable future.

It can easily do web browsing with over 10 tabs but it slows down at about 20 tabs. Having a ssd and fast cpu helps.
Nothing can last long in current industry that uses UE5 + frame gen + DLSS/FSR/XESS instead of optimizing their shit.

I use no other apps open other than the browser. I get your point that 4gb is too low nowadays but in my case at least browsing is fine with it. Valorant and such low end or old games are also playable with no other apps open. Now I am looking to buy a laptop with 16gb ram and i3 12th gen.

I have a desktop pc but it's not worth upgrading, just buying a new laptop is better. RAM speed of my pc is 2400mhz while that of new laptops is minimum 3200mhz. My current processor is quite old too so it will be an overall bottleneck.

It's cheaper to upgrade your desktop unless you need a portable device a Ryzen 3000g Apu series and cpu have intergrade graphics power enough to run games like monster hunter world but I recomes you buy one that is not3200g

I bought a gaming laptop
I fully played Elden Ring with my old as hell PC, at 1080p medium ( and 720 low graphics at the DLC) but 60 fps, and it still looks very good to me. GTX 1060 6 GB + 16 GB RAM + I5 8400.
Before that I grew up with a weak PC with no dedicated GPU, only integrated one, and it wasn't good like modern AMD integrated graphics like vega 8 that even let you play GTA 5, so i barely played WoW and Starcraft 2 at 720p , low, and i was happy.
How much money you will need for a PC, depends of you standards. I'm happy with 720p low 60 fps but hate 30 fps, some people are even happy with 30 fps, depends of you.
Some rich dudes will think anything bellow Ultra + 4k + 144 fps is tasteless poorfag behavior
