Bragging about myself to myself when drunk

Sometimes when hammered I will brag about myself and how well I am and also watch old videos of myself ..
And when I wake up I’m like “uck”.
It’s kind of like when Kanye speaks about how great and interesting he is or the braggadearing motherfuckers at my job.
Why does this happen?
