what I find so fascinating about him its hope he starts off as this legendary soldier but then you see how when time goes on his ideologies and motivations become more and more twisted.he goes from being this noble warrior to someone who's willing to do some pretty messed up stuff while still viewing it as consistent with the ideology he followed form the beginning.
the way metal gear explores that moral descent is just very effective.you will still sympthaise with him even if he is making questionable choices.thanks for hideo Kojima .
the timeline and peprecitve just adds so much depth to the big boss.jsut when u think you have big boss figured out the narrative usdently flips into strange direction and makes to reevaluate things
and also he is not typical black and white hero or villain he just have that complex gray area that pull you into liking him
