Yeah season 5 has been plagued by bad writing tho even with season 5 not yet complete i still do prefer it to season 4, soldier boy has definitely been misused as the writers have no idea what to do with him.

The Genv characters are annoying as fuck so i don't care that they aren't involved in season 5 much as for Ryan yeah he is another character that they have no idea what to do with.

I don't understand the lack of fights this season either as for Homelander he is definitely dying in the finale and guaranteed they will fuck it up. This whole Kimiko getting the soldier boy blast power is fucking dumb and very shoehorned in just as a way to kill Homelander after he got the V1.

We'll see what happens but my suspicion is the finale will be complete garbage.

But I watch it for the cool supe fight scenes. All I ever wanted for season 5 was a bigger and better Homelander fight than we got in Herogasm and unfortunately we don't seem to be getting that.

Yes, but surely he can't have been THAT important. He was just one of the many protagonist characters, surely they could have written around him or recast him. I just don't see Andre as this essential character. If the actor for Marie had died, then maybe yes, you can't have the show anymore. But Andre was whatever.

My prediction for the finale of the Boys:

• all characters (the boys, ryan, gen V kids) gather and they confront Homelander at Vought Tower.
• they manage to pin Homelander down, then Kimiko tries to chest blast Homelander, but her powers only work partially like Solder Boy's. The chest blast fries the V1 out of Homelander's blood, but it also fries the V out of Kimiko's own blood, making her mortal. Homelander crushes her skull killing her permanently
• now Homelander is pre-V1 levels again, which makes him vulnerable to the virus again
• it is revealed both the Deep and Oh Father decide to betray homelander, joining the boys' side
• big fight (hopefully) ensues, but without soldier boy, they are not strong enough, and homelander slowly kills characters one by one
• Butcher then reveals Sage helped him finish the virus, and he takes a vial out of his coat, says ''scorched earth'', grins smugly, and then shatters it on the ground, infecting everyone
• Hughie starts shouting and crying because he realizes Starlight will die, tells Starlight he loves her
• Starlight also tells him she loves him, then starts charging the power like in the season 3 finale, but (hopefully) stronger blinding Homelander
• Homelander then needs to rely on his super hearing
• Fighting continues, but in the meantime Hughie slips out and goes to free Soldier Boy (yet again)
• In the meantime Homelander manages to kill almost everyone, but is weakened. Marie uses her blood powers to immobilize Homelander. Soldier Boy together with Butcher and Ryan manage to beat him to death. Butcher eventually dies due to his wounds. He colapses next to Homelander. Both are consious for a few moments and they look into each other eyes. Homelander cannot believe he is going to die while Butcher is grinning smugly
• Soldier Boy, Ryan, Marie and Hughie are the only ones who survive
• Soldier Boy frees Edgar, Edgar becomes again CEO of Vaught, starts doing damage control and PR, saying Starlight managed to find a way to corrupt and control Homelander's mind
• Soldier Boy gets his happy ending (pun intended) by going to Colombia to have sex with prostitute and do cocaine
• Final scene of the series is Hughie walking in silence down the same street where in season 1 A-Train killed his girlfriend. He is contemplating everything that has happened so far, realizing he will never be able to live a normal life after the traumas he endured
• Fade to black, roll credits
• After credit scene: Sage in a bunker reading books, watching soap operas, and eating junk food

Also, the Gen V kids... I think it's over for them. I don't think they will be featured. They destroyed Marie with the ''what good is that power if you can't control it?'' line, despite Gen V season 2 being about Marie controlling her power.

If anything, Starlight is the one who can't control her powers, she is so fucking weak. But the writers will make her suddenly strong again just to beat the Deep, and she will have her girlboss moment of beating the Deep to near death, because the Deep graped her.

I want Starlight to be cool and strong, but she is garbage. Her best feat was temporarily blinding Soldierboy for a few moments in the Season 3 finale. Even then, it was horrible.

got beaten by a weaker Butcher than Herogasm Butcher, and by Ryan, whom Homelander pummeled into the ground in an earlier episode. Homelander in the first episode of season 5 was fast enough to keep up with A-Train. But in the finale he's not fast enough to get away from Butcher's tentacles. Butcher with his tentacles got destroyed in a previous episode by Bombsight btw.

There was no ''scorched earth'', There was no twist like in the comic book with Black Noir. Homelander didn't do anything. At the end they just humiliated him and destroyed his aura. Trump bad, I guess. Good job, Shitkre..
