Incels have unfortunately been associated with Elliott Rodger and Alek Minassian and a history of violence and encouraging of violence. Incels shouldn't make it easy for people to find more of that kind of thing. Unfortunately many incels made it too easy by actively cheering on these incidents instead of just staying silent about it or repeating that they don't support violence like all manosphere groups did.
At the time many incels thought they were based because of this but it attracted the wrong kind of attention and they played into the hands of people looking to criminalize all expressions unfavorable of women that are voiced by low status males.
But ugly males shouldn't give society more of a reason to go after them. Otherwise ugly males are mostly an afterthought.
But when you force society to acknowledge you it backfires.
