I can understand it from an evolutionary psychology perspective, though. A low-inhib male is more likely to mate and spread genes through rape. A low inhib male is also more likely to permanently kill or disfigure competitors, leading to higher fertility. Through that doctrine, a man with lower inhibition would be a greater reproductive success. What you'll find is that in many situations in life people naturally gravitate towards a sole authority figure. In the absence of one they will appoint one from their own.
