And household income doesn't tell the full story, Norwegian infrastructure, roads, public transport etc. all far exceed the US, healthy food is also cheaper, if you become homeless, disabled or get a mental illness then the government will take care of you (that'd never happen in the USA where veterans are given nothing and treated like shit by the state), And the funnies part is that when you adjust for purchasing power parity, Norwegian median household income exceeds that of the USA.

Fair, but one must bear in mind that America is many times larger than Norway and that federalism in this country makes it considerably more difficult to implement and maintain the above-mentioned public services at the national level.
I would agree with you, but you have to take into account that Norway is a homogeneous nation state compared to America, which is increasingly becoming a turd world shithole. About 40% of the population are low human capital parasites who feel no loyalty or trust toward the government or the nation. Introducing a comprehensive social welfare system like Norway's would be a disaster, frankly.
In any case, I would not want to be at the mercy of a globohomo government that hates me for being white, straight, and a man like the one in Norway and in most EU countries. America is challenging if you are poor, yes, but currently there are more opportunities to escape government overreach.

You're definitely right on that front, which is why I'd argue that states should have slightly less power (education, welfare and the prison system should be centralised under complete federal control).
