I first started playing it about 5 years ago during Covid. It was fun at first, especially as someone with an interest in flags and geography, but I don't really enjoy it these days. The UI is cringe and I also suck at it after a good while away. I can't win at the duels anymore (just played a few while eating dinner and lost all), and I don't have the patience for the massive country streaks I used to work up over days (highest was over 800). Every cope has an end, as they say.

I should add that the original gameplay mode of the 5 rounds of locating gets pointless after you get a 25k, unless you want a faster time. I can't remember my fastest time but I think it was low enough that I didn't see the point in doing that mode anymore.

Unironically it made Finland one of my favorite countries scenically. Every location seems to be a pristine forest or a clean city. It goes to show what's possible when you keep migrants out, Sweden should take notes.

Also one of the easier countries to 5k in. Very logical road system (compared to some nightmare like France) and only a few major cities to memorize, so if you find a sign you can pretty well orient yourself as to the general area.

When would you say this began happening? When the devs started wrecking the UI is when it went downhill for in my eyes.
