Americans and the foreigners

Can anybody explain to me, why Americans hate immigrants so much? I mean as an European I understand that you wouldn`t welcome any immigrant who comes to your country with the primary intention to just loafing around and quashing state payments. But as far as I know immigrants don`t get any payments in the USA such as in most European countries. So when they do the awkward jobs that are low paid and that hardly a native would take to feed their families in US, why do you want to deport them?

America has this weird policy where if immigrants have children in their country the child would become a citizen.
