really depends on how schizo you want or need to be

basics are to avoid google and (as of recently) duckduckgo, use qwant or other well established privacy search engines instead

vpns are mostly useless so i wouldn't bother paying for one and most free ones are bad

firefox is a better alternative to chrome or edge

if you want to be serious about it, and really avoid all spying (but hurt your own browsing experience in the process)
switch from windows to linux, tails is really good for privacy but the change can be jarring (i can not understate how much data windows collects)

create a private onion routing network with your friends, there is a program for it but i can't find it atm

research isps and their views on giving away data to the government and choose one with that info

exclusively use tor as a browser

have a harddrive or partition that's only used for OS, then encrypt the rest (tails lets you do this easily)

also shouldn't need to be said, but really get ublock origin regardless of what browser you have. adblock plus sold out and ublock stops more than just ads (tracking stuff etc)

run hitmanpro every once in a while to clear your browser of tracking cookies, it's also good at finding actual viruses. don't pay for it, free version works more than fine.

Ok GrAYcel

degoogle your phone if needed and if you are using windows disable telemetry

First you dress up as a woman and talk straight to your web camera how much you love your FBI agent, get the whole drag outfit with the clown makeup and fake tits, they love that. Then wait for the agent to show up to your house for perceived intercourse. Then bash his fukn head in.

In all seriousness start by using a freedom respecting browser, if it is asking you to login to stuff or make an account it’s trash. Unless you know how to turn that crap off. Then use a freedom respecting search engine not ddg, yandex or quaint or make your own. Next find a vpn provider you can trust, pay with virtual currency. Make new email accounts using your vpn and never access them without your vpn. From there you can use those email accounts for other sites.

If you want to go even more tinfoil then switch to Linux or BSD operating systems. Use encrypted disks.

Max tinfoil is RAM disk drives that wipe on shutdown and weighing your hardware for bugs. But you should not need that unless you are the owner of silkroad.

PrivateFirewall would likely resolve my current problem quickly.
