Lifefuel for paradoxcels. Finally had enough of hoi4 after 4k hours decided to try out stellaris and I already have 60 hours after 4 days of playing, I don't even know where the time goes I just get so into it, I don't even watch or listen to something simultaneously I just fully focus on it.

This is my current empire in the game im playing after I just had a brutal total war with an enemy who equalled me in pretty much everything.

Once I get bored with this, I'm planning on learning Victoria 2 since Victoria 3 seems very gay, as all new paradox games do.

Is it better than Civilization?

Yeah, although I've never been much of a civilisation guy, I'm not a fan of the turn based system and the weird country picking. In stellaris you can enslave entire species then resettle those species off their homeworlds only to move in your population and then finally genocide the enslaved aliens, it's fucking insane for a paradox game when they tiptoe around the holocaust in hoi4.

Thanks for the explanation ill give it a try again :feelsautistic:

These Grand strategy games seems boring to me man. Idk maybe they just look boring or something.

It's brutally hard but i enjoy play it for roleplays and with cheat

Is it more complicated than EU or HOI?

Real time strategy is so much better than turn based

It’s easier than hoi4 mechanic’s wise but way more micro intensive, don’t know about EU though, never got into it.

I've also been playing a lot of stellaris recently, I think about 30 hours in the past 3 days.

Fun game. Wish I was actually good at it, I don’t think I’ve ever won even once. If I manage to somehow make it to endgame the crisis just bulldozers over my empire

I usually just quit the game when I notice I'm going to lose or when the game starts running like shit. The only time I've won is when I became the crisis.

Oh yeah that’s right it gets pretty laggy once you reach endgame and there’s like a billion different things running all at once. Kinda saps the fun out of it. Early and mid game are the best parts, exploring and building up, then actually going to war with other empires

Yeah, I agree, but out of all paradox games I think it has the best end game.

Agreed. When I start a new game I always really like trying to find good choke points and building tall, then vassalizing neighbors when I have good defensive positions and a powerful fleet.

Yeah, the end game in stellaris can be a lot of fun, I usually just don't have the patience to get there because my game slows down so much, but I guess it's my own fault for playing on pretty demanding settings.

I love stellaris but I've only played a few hours, I have choice paralysis with my backlog.

Real time strategy is so much better than turn based

It's just a matter of taste, both are great depending on your mood.

Paradox games are not turn based though, they're pausable real time, like the old Baldur's Gate games.

How on earth? It's so fucking dull and boring. It honestly baffles me this game is still alive and squirming.

It's not dull, it's a game that immediately stimulates your imagination and has a beautiful atmosphere (the music, the interface).

I personally enjoy slowly understanding how the systems in the game interact with each other, Paradox games are brilliantly designed.

i alr got almost 600 hours logged over there

I have 2k hours in it, it'll get boring eventually.
Enjoy it as long as you can.

I can play Total War series but cannot play those 4x games.
I tried to learn stellaris a few years back but I couldn't understand what I was supposed to do

stellaris is peak but its kinda shitty that so much content is locked under bulshit dlcs that you have to pay money for but thats kinda the same for all paradox games.

dudes deadass dont think i eat fruit like that
