It doesn’t even help you with any real skill like fast reaction time or good hearing the ball just goes randomly

Take csgo or siege for an example it actually takes skill and helps you with other shooter fps games.

Wrote this thread because I’m above average at most of the fps shooter games without effort or bare minimum hours on the game BUT rocket league im horrible like I have 45 hours and still can’t figure out shit it’s not even skill issue it’s just not made for me my type of games are fast reaction time and hearing

I tried it and i swear after 10 hours all my goals are just pure lucky, the skill floor on the game to predict where the ball goes and controlling your car to hit the right spot is too high

You being bad at it doesn't make it a bad game. So you can get good at FPS in no time because you have good reaction times? Good for you. In Rocket League you need to learn how to drive the car and control the ball, there is a high skill ceiling compared to most braindead FPS games. Is chess bad because you're not a pro after playing it for a while too?

And I'm not defending Rocket League because I'm a fan. I don't like it, because I think that the controls are messy and there are too many buttons to press independently at once, and I don't have that much control on my fingers to play it well, just like how I don't have good enough reaction times and aim to play well FPS games. I'd rather spend the time it takes to get good at these games learning an instrument, drawing, or a more useful skill.

These games don't make sense to me anymore because you're expected to put in an amount of effort, time and study that would be better spent anywhere else, just to be good enough to not be a hopeless noob. It made more sense as a kid with a lot of time to waste, but now not so much. It's like having a second job, and for what?
