"They should shower" is a shorthand for "they smell bad". There is a kernel of truth to that, in the fact that attraction is strongly mediated by odor/pheromones. There's also the whole MHC thing.
Sadly, it's not about showering, but about literally changing your DNA and skin biome which is not as trivial as showering. But of course retards will complain without understanding.
