Do you know why? Because cosmetics are BORING.

Back on Roblox Jailbreak and Mad City it was really fun getting a little bit of money irl and buying some really fun gamepasses! To get a cool new weapon or car or some other perk!

And one time I bought a little Mad City Nerf gun at the shop and got it in the game too and it was a really fun and unique little gun.

Anyway, just my thoughts!

You would love klux of klans I mean clash of clans then

Why does "progress" always have to involve more and more rules and restrictions >.<

It always involves taking away something that you had before.

One caveat to this I think is that... I struggle to think of any Jailbreak or Mad City passes that gave you a MASSIVE advantage.

It would for sure suck if you could just pay $50 and get a ludicrously overpowered weapon that meant you always won always!

I guess you could buy in-game currency and buy a really good car with it. But it wasn't super difficult to save for the car.

I do see why p2w taken too far can be bad of course, like that $50 example.

If you play Roblox, you must be retarded and gay, tbh.

No offense to cool retards.

I think I just tend to enjoy quite straightforward action games.

Like when you go into the bank in Jailbreak and the music is cool, the art design is really nice, and you have this fun obby and it's multiplayer too.

That kind of thing is just fun to me. Most games feel too slow, serious and bland.

When I buy a game I want it to be in a complete package. No extra buy this that the other separately. It fucks with my OCD.

Hm. I think it's cheeky when you have to pay full price for a game and then it's still nowhere close to complete.

But I don't mind so much if it's free or very cheap but you pay for gear. Reality is like that lol

grinding is better than buying

I guess there's room for both models isn't there really.

I don't think either is going anywhere any time soon.

I think loot boxes are the thing that is a bigger concern to most people and even they don't seem to be going anywhere.

Depends on whether it's competitive or not

If it's like clash of clans or something then yeah p2w should be in the game intrinsically

It's weird really because when I bought those Mad City perks and stuff I think it was mainly so I could evade being killed/arrested by cops and heroes for longer!

Become strong-willed

Over time I have accumulated I think all the Jailbreak passes and almost all the Mad City ones as well as lots for other games!

But this is over years and years and it was pretty much always very intentional. I'm not really a completionist by nature.

an bit of pay-to-win is fun, because it creates competition and hierarchy which makes the game enjoyable and way more fun. .

No, it fucking is not.

Leads to gambling and real world trading.

In runescape, they used to have the duel arena, but they had to get rid of it because of that.

Kind of creates an undeground black market.

CS:GO was the samething as well.

OK but the escape tsunami for brainrots game is currently trying to charge me about £9 just to hide in one little hiding spot from the waves, lol

I am NOT paying that!! XD

i feel the parts that you pay for can't be game changing or altering i think the best example of pay 2 win games are clash royale and tarkov, you can be skillful in both but if you are missing certain things you can't succeed in the rest of the game (stash size, card levels, trader levels, king tower levels)

Yeah it's nice to feel like the newbie or non-paying player... can still compete. Maybe it will be a bit tougher or maybe their loadout or whatever won't be quite as tailored to their ideal preferences, but if they're good, they'll still do well.

I can only tolerate pay-to-win in gacha system

Absolutely shitty takes from OP it seems.

Depends on the value for money. Roblox games (especially smaller ones) and other games that are poorly balanced or targetted towards children can be fun to spend a small amount of money in for a disproportionately large reward.

As an example, I remember playing a Roblox agar.io clone and one player had accumulated a large size (probably spent upwards of an hour playing to achieve it). This particular game had a "revenge" feature, where you could spend a small amount of Robux (less than a dollar's worth) to kill the person who consumed you. I used it on this player and he went ballistic in the game chat. It was humourous to witness, definitely worth the small amount of money.

No, it's video game hypergamy. More money means you mog. No room for skill involved
