My last thread discussed how therapy and counseling were somewhat helpful, but I also mentioned that I sometimes felt worse talking to female therapists.
Tonight, something terrible happened. The female therapist said in a cold tone, “Maybe that’s something you should talk about with your psychiatrist and have your medication adjusted.” At that moment, I understood what she was really saying. She couldn’t pretend to care about my problem and was tired of talking about it.
I told her, “Yeah, thanks, and bye,” and hung up before she could even reply.
I know therapists don’t actually care about people; it’s their job. But at least they can pretend. It makes one feel doubly worse when they have no one to talk to about their issues.
