Prison ain't what it's like in the movies, nobody really cares for what crime you did and I spoke to some guys as well as @Dr. Autismo can testify to this. The guys who do sexual crimes are usually housed separately in their own wing, and I believe it's true across a lot of correctional institutions unless you do some other violent crimes as well like Murder or something.

So you'll just be spending a year pretty bored out of your mind and speaking to your fellow inmates till you get out, you aren't gonna get stabbed or anything unless it's a really Max Sec prison for violent inmates.

Yeah still, it applies to most institutions, I spoke to a guy who was in federal prison and he had a phone there smuggled in by someone else to call on. He spoke about how he was looking for stuff and the feds got him, but since he had a prior felony for an unlawful discharge of a firearm he got a 10 year sentence but Idk every prison is different and the one he is in is pretty laid-back since the guards don't really care and even the other inmates didn't care what crimes he did.
