That is not true. Russia can only do so much with their aging population and limited resources - the war in Ukraine was meant to only last a month or two. Their limited capacity is what led to Assad's regime to collapse, for example. Russia is unable to power project in multiple places at once (which is why it's not considered a superpower like the USSR once was). Similarly, Russia has to spend money to pay the pensions of the veterans in addition to all the money spent rebuilding whatever they're taking in the peace deal (because they are not going away emptyhanded), and it's not going to be cheap. It would be bordering on suicidal to not only risk a war with NATO but also to destroy your economy to rebuild even MORE destroyed shit that is basically worthless now, because everyone evacuated the cities and left them empty and to rot.

Above and beyond the world economy is too interconnected (even with the new wave of protectionist leaders) for WW3 to really be viable. Nazi Germany essentially was an autarkic state, China is not and neither is Russia. Taiwan's capability of producing superconductors is too valuable for China to risk invading and losing it, they call it the Silicon Shield. Besides, the only people who profit in war is the military-industrial complex and no one else really, so bankers and real estate speculators have no dice in this game
